Bangkok, November 26. Facebook users in Thailand should be more careful now when using the button “like”.

The Government warned: for approval of articles with the criticism of the monarchy you can go to jail, reports “NTV”.

The monarchy in Thailand is absolute value, and the punishment for its insult in this country is the most severe in the world.

However, the distance between clicking in the browser and the prison has never been so close.

The Minister of Information and Communication Technology of Thailand Anudith Nakornthap advises everyone who has clicked “like” under the Articles relating to majesty to remove it immediately.

Otherwise it may result in accusations of “indirect” distribution of illegal content.

The warning came two days after the man who had sent a message with the insult of the Queen, was sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment.

The total damage from catastrophic floods in Thailand will cost 1.36 trillion baht (more than 43 billion dollars).

Such an assessment of damages was provided by an expert of the Bangkok World Bank in Thailand Kirida Bhaopichitr, ITAR-TASS reported.

In particular, there are 94% of losses in the private sector and only 6% – in the state sector.

This year, because of catastrophic losses caused by the elements, GDP growth in Thailand amounted to 2.4% instead of previously projected 3.6%.

In 2012, GDP growth figures will increase and will be not less than 4%.

This was caused by the fact that Thailand would have to do a great job on the restoration of destroyed buildings, infrastructure, and send huge amounts of money for the rehabilitation of industrial companies.

As a reminder, since July 5, when the north of Thailand was hit by a tropical storm Nock-Ten, natural disasters have affected 63 provinces, over 11 million people suffered from the element, nearly 1 million people sought medical help.

Nearly 250 thousand people were left homeless.

Citizens in Thailand who lost their property due to high water, are under special control of specialists, who fear the increasing number of suicides.

Currently Thai authorities will have to take a difficult decision on what to do next with the oldest airport in Bangkok Don Muang: whether to restore it or to recognize the airport unsuitable for use.

The fact is that the airport was badly damaged by floods in late October – passenger and cargo terminals and the western runway were flooded and only the eastern runway escaped destruction.

In this regard, Don Muang operation was stopped.

Previously, the damaged airport received and sent flights of local airlines Nok Air and Orient Thai, as well as some charter and cargo airliners.

Because of disaster, they had to send aircrafts to Suvanabumi (here in Bangkok) and Utapao (Pattaya).

Initially, the authorities said that the airport would be rebuilt, but in late November, the situation was seriously deteriorated – the water level in the Don Muang amounted to one and a half meters.

The exact amount of damage is not reported, but the experts say that millions of dollars are required to rebuild the airport.

If the government decides to restore the terminal, a new defensive wall must be constructed, the same as in Suvanabumi.

Though it is much more real to adapt the airport to the exhibition or logistics center – it will cost much less.

So far the authorities have allocated money on pumping water out of the airport.

Don Muang is the oldest airport in Asian history.

It was opened in 1914, however, the flights had been serviced earlier.

Commercial flights had been serviced since 1924. Billions of tourists from all over the world came here.

Opening Hour is 7 p.m. – the sellers will open their concession stands with the goods.

The concession stands will be closed at 1 a.m..

Local authorities hope that the new trade outlet in Bangkok will become very popular among foreigners and local citizens.

The market will evolve gradually here.

Currently, only one zone for trade is ready for the opening, where antiques and “second-hand” will be sold.

Further diversification is planned: food, toys and souvenirs will be also sold there.

Several outdoor cafes and a flower market will be opened nearby.

As it became known that it will not be the extent of activities of the authorities in Bangkok.

The opening of a number of shopping areas along the capital’s canals is expected thereafter.

Bangkok is one of the world’s shopping centers.

It is in this Thai city where the tourists leave the most money.

Goods are cheap and of high quality, bargaining is always appropriate.

The guests of the country buy mostly goods made of silk and cotton locally produced, as well as treasures.

There are many shopping centers and boutiques in Thai capital.

The city has already got a night market (Opening Hours – 7 p.m. – 2 a.m.) – it’s on the streets of Patpong, and it is one of the most popular markets in Bangkok.

“Emporium” is one of the best shopping centers where the shoppers can always find exclusive clothes of famous brands.

In July 2011 almost 118 thousand Russian tourists visited Thailand, which is 8 times more than the same period last year, said Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Russia and CIS countries Visanu Jaroensilp.

“Such rapid growth was due to the active work of Russian tour operators, especially in Siberia and the Far East, where a huge number of charter flights were arranged.

14 aircrafts arrived from Khabarovsk to Thailand in July”- said the official.

According to him, more than 578 thousand Russian tourists have visited Thailand for seven months this year, which is almost by 78% more than during the same period last year.

According to this indicator, Russia ranked first among European countries, having left Britain behind.

According to Thai statistics, one in five European tourists in the country is a Russian citizen. The total number of Russians in the worldwide tourist flow in Thailand for the first seven months is more than 5%.

In Thailand, the season of durians has begun – a miracle fruit, which is idolized.

The air is filled with a specific smell, and it is impossible to elbow to the trolleys with the new harvest.

Durian is a non grata fruit in many public places in Thailand.

Tourists often try to take it home as a souvenir, and it causes serious problems to them.

Special plates with a warning not to carry this fruit are installed in hotels and airports of the kingdom.

The aroma of peeled durian, having been in the packet for about an hour, is more like a stench that can not be eliminated.

Violators face a huge fine.

Despite the ban, 20-30 people with concealed fruit are caught daily in the international airport in Bangkok, AMI-TASS reported.

The price for durian in season is high.

So, a kilo of the popular cultivar Chantanaburi will cost $ 50.

The thing is, according to vendors, that this fruit requires delicate handling and should be harvested manually.

The citizens of Thailand is very jealous of overseas competitors, noting that you can try the most delicious and a real durian only in the kingdom.

The citizens of Thailand advise to try a fruit that was bought only from street stalls and, of course, peeled in your presence.

“Once they cut a thick, prickly rind and get a nutritious pulp that resembles pastry, start the meal – the gourmets advise. – Only in this case, you can catch the indescribable taste, combining notes of strawberries, cream and spices”

Doctors remind of a sense of proportion: “For once you should not eat more than one lobule, and in any case you should not wash down the fruit with alcohol”.

Ministry of Culture of Thailand issued a statement about the ban for tourists for making Buddhist tattoos during a visit to the country.

As reported on Thursday, June 2, by Associated Press, the ministry believes that making of tattoos by adherents of other religions is unethical.

According to the Minister of Culture of the country Niphit Intharasombat, his office receives the complaints from local residents who are unhappy with the fact that foreign tourists are making tattooes of the sacred image of Buddha not out of religious considerations, but following the fashion.
